2004grandprix

Hi, I have a 2004 grand prix GT 3.8. lately ive been noticing my temp gauge flucuates. it goes way up when sitting in traffic and back down to normal even when im still in traffic. Just an hr ago, i went to start it and let it run for about a half hr only to find out that cold air is blowing out instead of heat..

The car is full of antifreeze. Please assist with what this could be!! I can never seem to be free of car issues, and this new issue is driving me up the wall! Please help!!!
 


If it was my car, I would flush the cooling system and change the thermostat.

If its blowing out cold air, but still has the blend door functions to change where the air goes, then likely the heatercore neeeds to be flushed out along with the coolant.
