take them off more often and they'll slowly become very, very easy to take on and off.

and leave those plug covers off, they just get in the way.
 
Nothing is wrong with your car. Sometimes in the mechanic world after you try the correct way to try to remove something. Then one has to relay on brute force and a bfh or something like a good old pair of vice grips , pry bar or cheeter bar. Get " MANLY" with that mofo. they will come off.
