PLEASE HELP! 02 GTP No Crank No Start with security light

Ok here is the vehicle info...

2002 GTP
Bone Stock
2 door
148k
Redfire metallic

Problem info....

I try and start the car and sometimes it will fire up first try, other times it will take between 20-200 turns of the key before it will finally crank and fire. When it doesnt start, there is no cranking or anything. just the click of the starter relay. It has power to all the normal interior things and what not. Also the keys go in and come out of the ignition tumbler just fine. no hang-ups there

The security light was on before this started happening and still is on. It doesnt flash, just stays on. It has the Pass-Key 3 system

There are 2 codes for the security light stored. They are:

P1629C- Theft deterrent Fuel Enable Signal Lost
and
B2955- Key Code Input is Short to Battery

The problem has gotten progressively worse in about a week. :th_thumb-down:

What ive done...

Ive done as much research as i possibly can.. i have checked all wiring in the steering column and found no frays burns or previous hack-jobs. Ive also replaced the starter and the battery. The passkey reset procedure doesnt work because the security light never "shuts-off" after 10 minutes. i even tried following the process to no avail...


New starter
New Battery
Wiring checked

Well that damn cool that the new key worked...nice idea gtpinsc...

now one question....what the hell does including the color of the car have to do with helping diagnose the problem?? XD

White cars automatically have more issues. True fact. It's called the white curse.

Double or triple the accidents
And everything else..it just goes back on white cars.
 
well white cars are more trouble, cause there are a **** ton of white cars..
Even tho silver is the most popular....

red gets the most tickets..
