a job at auto zone or pep boys is really nothing more than find a part on a pc, then go look for a # on a box in a certain section. most of the employees there dont know much about cars, some do, most don't, just kids making money.
when i needed my d/s axle i called auto zone, a girl answered the phone, (shes helped me at the counter before) she cant find the part # for the GS just a LS and i know that's wrong. not her fault, shes just looking at a screen with part numbers and listings. (she may not know where the parts go but she can usually find them lol)
call napa and of course the guys finds the right # in a minute.
on another note i dont care who's looking up my parts, i always try to bring in the old part and match it up on the spot, just to make sure its right, and im watching the screen for the parts making sure they got the right info entered and all that crap. i have been sold the wrong part a few times and i hate going back to return and buy the right part again. most of the time the right part costs more too.
what really sucks is when you are working on your one and only car, take it apart, then the parts don't fit, so now you have to put your car back together to drive back to the store, now that sucks a dick.
