So i want the 350, yeah it sucks the 350's only came in auto only but thats ok i'm use to auto's lol, i'm sure some of you are saying why get a sports car with an auto well it's simple they can be just as fun as sticks. So anyways yeah i know it's sad that i am getting sick of the gtp but i'm not really getting sick of it, the car is just getting old and worn out. I always wanted a iroc z cause i remember my mom getting one every other year, she had an 87,88 and 89 all with the 350 and they flew like a raped ape. Well thats all i gotta say. Sorry guys lol.

i don't blame you we all have to move on sometime. i always want a rwd car too. 03-04 cobra are on my list if i ever get rid of my monte carlo.

i had a '79 t/a firebird 10th anniversity when i was in high school. it got total cause some old bag ran a stop light and hit me. i miss that car:(. '81 camaro is the last year before they change to different body style. i never like the '82 and up body style anyway it's too plain.

Thats the only car right now I would want besides the gtp! Kenne Belle:th_sinister:

But don't get an old sports car... they are cool but you could spend $10,000 on one and still run 14 second 1/4 mile and get 10 mpg. Plus Your goin to miss the luxury.

What are you talking about spending 10k and still run 14's ??? lol they allready run low 14's stock. I know im gonna miss the luxury, i'm gonna miss the hud the most.

KB cobra's are the shiiiiiiiiiit. too bad you cant find one for a good price and they are still a ford.

I'll admit it...if I were to buy a car for all around whoop @$$, it would be an 03-04 Cobra....a tune and a pulley and you're looking at low 12's aaallll the time.

Atleast your staying GM. Don't get me wrong, there ain't nothing wrong with a stang either. I had a 79,81,and 88 Camaro. Miss them all. Good luck on your findings.

IROC low 14s stock? I doubt that. High 14s, maybe on a really good day. They are not fast at all but have a lot of potential out of that little SBC. To get low 14s you'll need some good bolt ons and some gears to get them moving like that.

There nice cars, I always wanted one and came very very close to buying an 89 IROC myself. Course my plans for it was an LS1 Swap etc because there dog ass slow. The car had an aftermarket exhaust, a FAST TB, and chip and a few other things and it was still dog ass slow. Hell the owner thought we were going soooo fast when I punched it from 20-70 mph, LOL, I almost took a nap. I should of pulled over and took him for a ride in my GTP, showed him what something moved felt like, LOL. I don't ever talk big on my car but damn, that IROC had nothing on my GTP muchless a stock GTP.

Honestly though, there a fun cars and have a lot of potential. I don't understand though, your car is getting old and some miles, so your going to sell it for something even older (granted it may have lower miles) but you're probably going to be wrenching on that Camaro more than your current car. I mean hell there close to 20 years old, things get old and break, if your buying it for a realible driver, I think you need to look elsewhere. If anything, Opt for a LT1 Camaro or an early LS1 car. At least there newer and there somewhat affordable. If anything keep the GTP, and buy an IROC for a project so you can have two running cars. When one breaks, you have a backup. Makes no sense getting a 20 year old car for a DD that can potential have more problems than your current car.

It depends on what you want to do with the car and how much you are going to change. Being that they are as old as they are you will pay through the nose for one with low miles or get a decent one with high miles and build a motor. I have a buddy with a 383 stroker and a paxton and it moves. I had an 86, 88 and 89 back in the early 90s in high school. The 86 and 88 were 305s and the 89 was a 350. The 350 was a noticable difference in power obviously but even back then most were beat on pretty bad. You have to check how bad the car is twisted. They will almost always have some cracks in the paint (maby worse considering the age of them now) on the b pillar at the top where the corner of the window is. The t-top cars always leaked on me but it was worth it cause I loved riding around with them off. The chassis flexed pretty bad unless someone welded sub frame connectors on it. The dash rattled pretty bad even when they were relativly young cars so that should be expected. If you don't mind restoring it they were awesome cars, i always loved mine.

haha and i thought i would be the only one. im thinking about giving up my car, to get rid of car payments. i just got to much other **** to pay for right now. and i also wanted to go with an iroc! manly i just wanted something rear wheel drive and something i can slam gears in. couple of my buddies had some and i just feel in love with them. maybe an ls1 swap later on down the road :)

yea i would to just because i know more about there motors and know more about working on them. but i kinda like the looks of the iroc more....humm i really dont know
