Plastic Vacuum Line Replacement?

98RedGTP

New member
My 98 GTP has all this old brittle plastic vacuum line from the bypass valve to the MAP, is it safe to replace it all with rubber line and new Ts as needed?

Absolutely. And if you ever want to have original stuff again, GM sells a vacuum kit that includes all lines and fittings.

Does anyone have the part number for that kit or some other alternative with parts from advance or auto zone? Just replaced my lim and broke some vacuum ts. Firgured i go ahead and replace lines as well.Thanks.

Don't have the part number but I can tell you its around $70 from the dealer. Have you checked rock auto?

How you figure $70 from the dealer, I just bought one today and it's $16 for a brand new one, I'll sell it to you for $30. Part #24508742

When mine broke this winter, it was $38 from the dealer. You two are literally on opposite ends of the country, prices will vary.

Ok your right......I'm wrong......i must have replace a different vac line but i can't tell you the one i bought from the dealer was $70. Relax.
