Plastic oil pan - Plug stripped - Suggestions

Last time I changed the oil on my 01 3.8 (non-supercharged) engine, the oil plug continued to turn. The oil pan is plastic so there must be some type of insert that the metal plug screws into. Any thoughts on this? Could the insert be turning? Is there an insert replacement? Or do I have to replace the whole pan? Thanks.

you dont have a plastic pan...

Its steel.

unless someone installed an aluminum one in there. that is all.

Pull the plug out and make sure it still has threads.

Its common for the plugs to strip but the threads in the pan to be fine.
