• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Planning next MODS.

42's only lasted to a 3.2 on my GS with stock 168k mile pump/no rewire (3.1 put it over 100% idc) on E85, never got to try the 60's before I traded it in. With a rewire and a fresh pump I probably could've got away with the 3.1, but I don't think they had too much more flow left in them at that point. Best to just go straight to 60's.

I will definitely get the 60#

Question- Should I pull the engine and do a timing chain. If so should I put the double roller?? I have a 166k on a stock chain. While out would it be beneficial to rebuild the bottom end or are they durable enough to handle the extra power??

I was reading through some posts and looks like 200k is the interval on the chain. I want to put new valve springs on so I will probably need to change the dampener and the chain anyways huh???

Meh, I'd never even open it up if you have no issue right now. These GM chains last forever, same with the LS chains. People run them for 200-300k miles without a single problem.

Chain can be done in car, no need to pull motor unless you plan to reseal it all.

Rebuilding the bottom end will just be a waste of money, stock everything down there will handle 500-600hp no problem if you can tune.

New valve springs wouldn't hurt, they can get worn and if you're pushing more boost they could be a issue later on.

Thanks FFDP, That is good to know. I will put some LS6 medium load springs in it then just to combat any possible valve float or worn springs. From what I have read those are a direct replacement. I will also put in new seals. I was holding off because I thought it was a must to change the Timing dampener and chain. It is also great to know the bottom end is durable as well.

OK I just bought the E85 pump and 3.0 Pulley. Hopefully I will have everything by my vacation in mid march. :) I still need the springs, injectors and tuner.
