Pilot fog light conversion for 03 Limited edition

Ok so i bought some new Pilot blue housing fog lights because my one fog light adjuster nut broke and there was a crack in the lens, i dont feel like paying 190 bucks to GM for a knew light and bracket (thats with my brothers GM mechanic discount before that is 260). I know i have to get brackets from like a 97-02 because the 03 bracket is different. but i was wondering how i still mod the 97-02 bracket to make the fog lights fit on. Also sense mine is a 03 the plug is different too on the fog lights. it uses a bulb with a tab instead of a normal plug in play. i would like to somehow just cut the plug n play part of 97-02 fogs and splice it the wiring on the car instead redoing all the fog light wiring. any tips and advice would be awesome here guys. Im tired of not being able to use my fog lights and having one of them completely taken out of the bumper.

I took the two old bulbs carefully broke the glass off of them and soldered the wires for the new fog-lights to the the filament leads make sure the filament is gone and shrink wrap everything. I also tack welded the bracket for the pilot fog light to the a modified original bracket.

Yes there are a bunch of dirty, non matching, plastic, foggy, overpriced fog lights in salvage yards around here. lol i could not find two off the same car that matched for under $30. The pilots are fine they have glass lenses and have sort of a blue tint to them when they are off. Also they are not very expensive. I had a set on my old 97 for 6 years and never had to replace a bulb. I had the DRL circuit ran to them so they were on all the time.

Do you know what size bulb is in the factory housing? Sounds like an H3. But double check. As far as the bracket you can get one at your local salvage yard, the classifieds or even morad parts.

Forgot to mention to invest in some xpel material if you want to preserve the lights from breaking again.

This write up should help you out
