Piggybacked/Dual PCM's?

Drunkie just rocked my world and said its possible to run two pcm's for tuning reasons. does anyone have experience with this? I have no idea where to start looking:confused:

HAHA Google bro and the search function blows here. Sorry I dont have more I'll do some more reasearch for ya. Like he said tho Id start with the nissan forums

Not sure why you would do that on a GP, but it's possible. I've used multiple PCM's on several projects in the past when needed.

You would need the pinouts and it can be very tedious. And you would have a permanent CEL, so if you have a state that requires this to be off then you are dead in the water.

Surprised no one has Megasquirted this car yet. I think Fiero's have done it with their 3800 swaps.

if you matched every single wire and put a two position switch with a bank of relays in there you could easily swap between the two and the car would never be the wiser.

however, it's sounds like a super pain in the ass.

A local with the SN Curado MS'd his car a few years back.

Was a 97-03 though.

Not really, just run the wires to the pcm for the engine control side and leave the rest with the original PCM. Just a CEL is permanent.

But a Megasquirt PCM would be easier to hook up I'd bet.

correct sir, i have emailed back and forth with will several times, there is no hope of getting some tuning love from him

Couldnt you have both pcm's hooked up to the same harness and switches only on the pins that supply each of the pcm's with power.

That way you can simply switch the power from each pcm.

Just throwing it out there, I dont know anything about the pcm pinout

That right there is the ultimate solution. Nice find blue.

Curado is the guy.

If you guys PM him, he'll be able to answer literally every question you have I'm sure.

Since he's kinda non-existant here anymore, I'll let him know though.

Switching between two pcm's on the fly won't work, you need both to on at all times. Hence giving one full control of the engine and the other one just everything else.
