Does anyone have pictures/video of removing a subframe with engine and transmission still attached using cherry picker in a 2000 Grand Prix? I have a 2 stall garage with a driveway that has a little slope to it and I was wondering if this would be possible with my garage door. I cant seem to find any pictures for doing this on a Grand Prix.

You can't pull the subframe out the top with a cherry picker, you could lift the car..but then it needs to be supported and have the picker removed to move the subframe.

I was just looking for pictures of how people attached the cherry picker to the car/bumper to lift the body off of the subframe with engine and transmission/struts still attached to the subframe. It seems like I would run out of room in a 2 stall garage or the cherry picker would hit the garage door lifting the body of the car. Thanks!

Uhhhhh I would move things far enough out of the way so you don't hit the door. My garage ceiling is only about 8-9 feet and this is why I pull things out the top. However you could attach to the front bumper and with a short chain.. I'd assume the roof/hood would be higher than the picker at that point.
Problem I see is you have to put your subframe onto blocks or something to keep it from resting on the engine hoist legs if you have one that goes under the car like most.

I also wanted to say thanks Bill! I used you write-up to remove the engine from the car out the top. I am looking for a replacement motor from a JY now. Old motor spun a rod bearing.....

Look up Sven Sexman and his Anna Nicole build. He has the car on a lift though. I personally go out the top because of how high I'd have to jack the body, and needing to have it aligned after pulling the subframe.
