Sweet. How was your trip to Little Sahara? What route did you take up there? Figured you probably wouldn't take 44 because that would lead you a bit east of where you needed to go.
Wichita mountains are nice, I need to get some pics of my car out there on Mt Scott since its only an hour or so from me.
BTW, where is that Paloduro canyon at? Never heard of it before...
It was great.
Sorry but I forgot about letting you know something up untill the point where we were driving way left of OKC and I saw a street sign. Figured it'd be kind of odd to call you at that point just to let you know I was'nt headed in your direction. lol
We, myself and Jeff, ended up arriving there about 9 or so and went straight passed the dunes into Waynoka for something to eat.. which they had a poor selection to choose from. Some place called 'Cafe Bahnhof' or a pizza and wings place. Not too hard to guess which place we went to. Epic Pizza though. :th_biggrin2:
That whole town is only there because of these dunes, everything revolves around them, you can even drive your ATV into town and go eat if you want, and every gas station sells little orange flags that your reqiured to have on your vehicle to be out on the dunes. Lucky for us since we forgot mine at the house. Ended up actually getting on the dunes about 11pm and it was nuts, dark as could be and only could see as far as my 6 Hella's let you.
Stayed out there untill about 3am. Only hopping off the top of a dune once luckily as we were following a guy with a sand rail we had met at the store earlier. Our new cargo box stayed in place though.
Funny thing was, we were the only road legal vehicle out there, let alone Land Rover. Nothing but four wheelers and a few sand rails. One of which caught my attention due to it's blow off valve... and twin turbos.
Next time you head to the Wichita Mountians, let me know. We'll probably head up thier too.
