Picking a cam



I would do some more research before you start spending money. Some of the things you said cancel each other out. Knowing what you are doing will always result in more power than just bolting parts together.
 
IMO, top swaps turn into big headaches.

And you'll need a person who can tune to make it run the way it should. Because it will be a high comp, cammed top swap. No canned tune will ever make it run right.

I'd do a GT2 cam with the required springs, headers, HV3, intake, plugs etc etc and a good tune. I think doing that would be less of a hassle and more DD friendly.

L67 stock tune would work great.

Its not worth the investment.

I can agree there.

No offense but how well does a canned tune work on a cammed engine?
 


hell...a stock tune works pretty well on a cammed engine. Thing is....you want better than pretty well.

As for the cam. Take a look around. Most guys doing swaps toss in an S1X or XP and they run great. I think it was Swiggles 1st or 5th motor (can't remember lol) that was a swap with cam. Ran great overall.
 
How does an XP Cam affect MPG? All things being equal and not having your foot in the throttle more often because of the power.
 
ive seen a lot of people saying they are getting 30 mpg all modded up, i can only guess thats if you stay out of the throttle.

with more power it should take less gas pedal to get it moving too. in a daily driving world.
