Sorry to bring an old thread back but my cars low coolant light went on how do i flush out the coolant system to put in new coolant in there? I would like to go green also but I wanna clean out all of the old stuff in there so thats why I'm asking.

Personaly I would drain it and fill with water run it then drain it the fill with water run drian pull the over flow bottle drain clean as much as you can do one more flush with water and fill with green

Or find a shop with a pressure flusher and have them do it

drain and fill works good. Turn heater on too. Get air out of the system when you replace it with coolant.

GTP: Dexcool
SS: Water Wetter and Distilled Water
BMW: BMW Coolant, it's blue, lol

well it depends, what color is the coolant right now?

if its orange/brown then NO, but its already green then YES.

Bull. There is no problem at all switching from Dex-Cool to conventional and leaving some of the Dex in there. It's going the other way that's the problem. You don't just want to top off a Dex system with conventional, but as long as you change the majority, you're fine.

yeah and i think i got a small leak somewhere lol heres a pic

how is that bull?

what i was saying is that if its full of orange dont put green in it, and if it green dont put orange it.

I know that you can change the coolant, I already switched to green so ya.

Sorry, I was just coming back here to delete that post as it seems he was talking about topping off. You're right, you do not want to top of a Dex system with conventional.
