Pfyc cai

Has anybody oredered a CAI from PFYC? They have the same one sold at COLDAIRINDUCTIONS.com, but is the tube from PRFY adjustable in the case a full intercooler was added? I believe ZZPs WizAired CAI comes with a tube long enough for a full size intercooler(or its at least an option).

The funny thing is that COLD AIR INDUCTIONS sell the CAI kit but without the TUBE(you have to use the stock one). But PFYC sells the original thermal ceramic treated tube with the same exact CAI kit. So im ordering from PFYC just so i can get that tube(just to complete my comestic look) but im planning on adding a full IC soon so I wanna know if that same tube can be adjusted for the height of the IC or what?

Thanks, Dee...

If you value your money, make your own HAI for the same gains. You can buy chrome piping from everywhere and make something look hella nice for still way WAY less than those overpriced CAI the vendors sell.

Just. Make. Your. Own.

Damn it sons of *****es you get tired of seeing people pay 200-300 dollars for some freaking tubing and an air filter wtf.

Just go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy a pipe and rubber coupler and a clamp or 2 and a 20 dollar AEM dryflow filter off ebay and you're good to go for like 30 bucks.

It absolutely blows my mind that people pay so much money for 30 dollars in parts and maybe 20 minutes of work. I wish I had that kind of cash to throw away.

You want SWEET ASS COLD AS **** FENDER WELL AIR??? Well buy an elbow and a longer pipe and do that for another like 5-10 bucks... woooo!

Going to bed now that I got that out.

^^ Basically what 95.92% of everyone on GPF will tell you.

Look up how to make your own intake on the site. Spend $50-$75 on a filter, clamps, and some tubing. You will then have the most customist badassery intake ever constructed.

There's no thermal ceramic flux capacitor **** its just thermal wrap the same you can get at home dept and when I say the exact same I mean the exact Sam ****. Order a silicone tube if you want and trim to fit

No but there is the flux reducing bypass Doppler sensor

Yeah i've been in this 3800 game since 06' so Ive been through every conversation posible about CAI. On my 01' LS ive had a CAI since 06' but on my 00' GS my intake has always just been gutted out with a K&N. I personally always felt that the gutted stock box and K&N was fine bc the gains wouldnt really be any more with anything else. Making your own is cheap but just gutting the one you have is far cheaper. And the stock box sits close enough to the fender well in my opinion, so the the air intake temp is just about the same.

Now of days there are CAI with better thermally protected intakes then there were in the past. I like the Cold Air Inductions intake the best but the ZZP WizAired intake is virtually the same but also has a few other options(like a longer tube for when a full IC is added).

Im not doing this for performance as I stated in the begining of this post, Im specifically just doing this for cosmetic looks. You know sometimes I wanna open my hood and !!!WOW!!! myself along with others, but at the end of the day im just tired of seeing that old intake box. I probably wont do it but if i do I wanna get an intake that would compliment my Full IC once I get it.

Thanks guys...

$60 for this setup!

I still think it would be cheeper to make your own. Especially if you already have the filter.

Yeah, If i go FWI it'll be the JMB CAI probably from the Wbody store but the WizAired from ZZP is at the top of my list. But honestly, for a wow now I've been thinking about outlining my stock box(the inside) with thermal wrapping, I just have to find the right thermal material. It's already gutted with the k&n so I think adding the thermal protection would be the icing on the cake.

Again, Im only doing this for cosmetic looks and not performance. The closer it looks stock the better, with these California emission laws

Im building my own fwi very similar to a jmb for around $100. CXracing sells a 4" dia. S-shaped pipe 16" long for like $30. Looks exactly the same as the jmb pipe. Got that, a few couplers and a 4"x9" k&n. Won't know how it works out for a few more days though.

Looks like it's going to be nice. Crazy how these 3800 venders can sell something for so much but anybody could probably put a similar CAI in for half the price
