Hey guys, bought a 04 gtp and have never seen the hud work, however i did have that broken spring issue so i performed the repair today. Put it all back together and still nothing. The control knob lights up and the fuse it okay. Im positive everything is plugged in, is there snything else you guys can recommend checking out?

if you look from the outside of the car with it on can you see anything on the screen, or can you hear the motor. you could of possible not connected it correctly

Thanks for the replys. I cannot see anything through the windshield or from outside looking down onto the glass. Also cannot hear a motor, though I've never heard it before.
I should take it apart for the third time but I know I connected both connectors (one on the inside of the box, 2nd connecting to the box)

Lol yeah it's a 04. Guess I'm gonna tear it apart again and check for power. Before I do that, is it safe cycling the key if I have the speedo unplugged? Just wanna check for voltage to the connector going into the HUD.

i did on mine. i turned it on to see if the hud powered up before i put everything back together...i didnt have a problem

Welp, took it all apart and I have 12v at the connector going into the HUD. Gutted the internals and the little white box that has all the LED's even has voltage getting to it.

Think I'm gonna just throw it back in the car and let it be. Besides replacing the entire HUD, anyone else have any experience with this issue? I figure it has to be one of the circuit boards or something

Honestly, I had to take mine apart to do the same repair job (2004 GTP), so I went through the same thing. Mine worked when I put it back together, but while the HUD is a pretty cool little toy, it really isnt that big of a deal. It just shows the speed along with the thermometer and compass, stuff that's already on your DIC and cluster.

If you cant figure it out getting yours fixed, just wait a little while... sometimes they come up for sale for cheap, you're not missing out on a lot while you wait, lol.
