Performance shift

Hey guys, hope someone can help here, I read Geddys how to about perf. shift . pin location 21 next to the orange wire is the one to use, however my 2000 gt has a black w/white striped wire in it already. I can see where the digital display have the boost and perf. shift lights at, does this possibly mean all I need to add is the shifter head?

If you don't have it on a GTP, you have to enable it with a tuner. I had mine all wired up, but since it wasn't turned out on in the pcm it wouldn't work.

You have to have a PCM that has it. My 2001 GTP factory pcm wouldn't do it, but my DHP pcm would. I'm pretty sure that GTs never had that option, but I'm not sure.

I know it needs to be turned on, that was not my question . I was wondering what the wire in pin 21 was. Someone who has this oem should be able to answer this I would hope. Schematics for this are not easy to come by for some reason:(

all you need to do is get a dport from radio shack, they didn't sell the pins separately when i did mine, but you just insert the pin, soldered to the wire, into slot 21, and then ground it either directly, or using a switch like i did. If you don't have it from the factory, there should be no wire in that hole.

my pins were numbered, so I just had to find #21, which was inverted from the directions.... after flipping the connecter upside down (which made the numbers legible, then it was the first pin above and to the right of the bolt that attaches the connector.

.....but PS hasn't been activated b/c we can't figure out how to do it with HP tuners and don't have anything else... :(

Ya thats whats confusing me I am the original owner and there is a wire in that slot Got a friend at GM gonna try to track it down for me so we will see. Thanks for the help will post the solution when I figure it out
