Performance shift mode?

I have an 03 gtp and it doesn't have the performance shift mode switch. Is this a programming option or is it an actual mechanical part??? Thanks for the help.

It's a switch that tells the PCM to modify some programming.

there is a physical switch on the side of your shifter knob which changes the settings in the PCM(especially if you get a canned tune, there are many differences over the stock speeds)
