Performance Shift Light

I have a 2000 GTP all stock and when I bought it the Performance Shift Light constantly flashes on the DIC and when you push the button the dash light wont come on,but the performance shift still works. it doesnt bother me but I would like to get it fixed because if I bump the button and its in Performance Shift mode I dont know until I realize the button is in
 


See if there is a short in the bulb maybe...pull out the DIC and check it in the back...I don't know much about electronics but it might be a start...
 
i have a performance shift button but the light doesn't come on. it must be burned out or does it turn on at a certain time? anyway how can you tell if the performance shift is on or not without a light to tell you if its on or not?
 
Ummm...does it go faster when the button is pushed...? Don't really know what else to tell you...you might try seating the pin better in the PCM, it might have came loose or something...not likely but you never know...I think it is #23 or #24 in the top section.
