People with 20's

When I first got my gp it had a set of 20's. The tire size was 245/35/20 but they stuck out so far from my car. Im looking into getting a new set of 20s but would like to see pictures of cars with 20s to see how far they stuck out. The rims must have been 20x9 or 20x10s. But after that I hated 20's for this reason. So does anyone have pictures of 20's on a car that are the right size for a gp

thanks

sticking out has to do with the offset of the wheels. youre gonna want to run a 20x8.5 +40mm or so.

mine stick out as well, just a tick outta the wheel well but only by a hair. The offset isnt correct on em tho so thats the problem. Wheels came off a caddy so their offset was different

your gona have to get an offset wheel... i had 22's platinum shields with 30series tire.. didnt poke out at all! did rub at times. :-<

You got pics? Im wanting to upgrade to 22's on the grand prix but hear diff things about it. How bad did they rub?

its all about the wheel width, offset, and tire size you run. if you stay at the same overall stock diameter as the stock tires then you'll be much better off then trying to stuff something bigger into the fenders. however, the bigger you go, the more expensive it is to go to a lower profile and a lot of people arent ready to pay for that expense.

what wheel are you trying to run, with what tire?

depends on the width of the tire.

which depends on the width of the wheel.

which depends on offset and how low you want to go.

with doin a 22 i will prolly hafta get a 10" wide rim. havent really checked into exactly what I want yet so not quite sure 100% on specifics, just wanted a general suggestion/info. I plan to bag the car but im sure I would roll around on em stock height for a bit.

its also gonna have a lot to do with your willingness to run a little negative camber to clear the fenders or not. you can run a lot wider wheels when you start stretching tires and running negative camber.

however, i would assume with a 22x10 wheel youd need to be in the +40mm offset area. let's think this over: the stock wheel is +52mm, 6.5" wide. so with a 10" wide wheel that is +40mm youre gonna be 12mm + 1.75" closer to the fender and 1.75" - 12mm closer to the strut. can you manage that? if you get what im trying to explain, is take some measurements and see what you can actually clear safely.

Not true. Theres many many 22s in a 9" width

your going to have to go with some 25 series tires.
