PCV Valve and Retainer for Gen V Supercharger

How do u know exactly if the pcv valve is bad?

And the black platic retainer at the bottom that goes under the pcv valve, it has 5 or 6 thread looking rings on it, do i have to push it down in till it stops and just pop it in the port for it and im good?

i have pictures of what im talking about if someone needs them.

No those have nothing to do with it, just the design. Its good if you can rattle the pcv valve and the valve moves freely. It goes plastic retainer, pvc valve, o ring, spring, cover.

so the plastic retainer just slips in then? no pushing it down? just want to clarify lol

also on a side note mini, with those silicond baking sheets for s/c gaskets, do u also put a layer of rtv on or just cut them and put them on and be done?

Cut them put them on and done. No rtv. They conform and seal fine. Did you get some?

Im not sure what you are asking when you say push down on the plastic retainer? When you drop it in, you should take a 3/8" extension and push it down in there until the plastic piece bottoms out.

ya thats exactly what i was trying to get at. I took the PCV cover and valve out to check everything. turned the supercharger over and that retainer just fell out. And the O-ring on the pcv valve was weak so i put a new one on.

And ya i got 2 sheets being shipped to me from target.com

Well you put it in before the pcv valve, and then you install the pcv valve. Use a dab of oil to make sure things glide smoothly.

No problem. Just keep in mind that eventually oil vapor will make a thin film but just make sure its not too much.
