pcm questions - need help

I have a 2001 GTP with 65,000 miles, I got the car 2 months ago and been slowly putting mods on it. So far I have installed 3" down pipe, high flow cat, u-bend delete, K & N CAI, and I have a 180 T-stat i'm going to put in when it gets a little warmer. I feel my next step is a pcm, I was thinking of going with DHP i've heard alot of good things about them. Any opinions? My question is, do I have enough done to my car to put the tuned pcm in and do I HAVE to drop pulley sizes in order to put the pcm in? will I feel a noticeable difference with the pcm upgrade and stock pulley? I'm new into the grand prix game, so all the help I can get would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

DHP is a decent choice, but it is really a generic tune that isnt all that good. it adds timing and fueling, but ends up making the car run rich.

if you want something more based on what youve got then look to Will Overkill.

dont need to drop pullies, but why mod the car to support a smaller pulley and not do it? a 3.4 setup makes a world of difference as far as power from stock.

I'm undecided about dropping pulleys, i'm just afraid it will kill the car. Is a 3.4 worse on the car mechanically? will a pulley make me feel a noticeable difference and do I have enough done to suport a 3.4? so far, what i've done I haven't felt any difference in power. I've also thought headers, maybe? I want noticeable power with out f*ck*ng the car up

it isnt any worse on the car mechanically if you keep it from knocking and running in good health.

with a 3.4, the car FEELS twice as fast, even though it isnt. id say with a little colder set of plugs and the tune with the PCM that youd be good with a 3.4. id be willing to say that you could run a 3.5 very easily (just for your knowledge, as a performance package SLP gave a grand prix GTX a 3.5 pulley).

if youre that worried about it, grab a powerlog while youre looking for a PCM.

I appreciate the help your giving me, I can't find websites to buy from for dhp or overkill. I know I should change the plugs, which are working well for people, i've heard autolites, but which do i use? or is irridiam plugs better? What are the benefits or a powerlog, is the like headers? what is the difference, I see people are only changing the front one, sounds kinda wierd without doing the rear one too. sorry if I sound dumb, i'm new to grand prix modding, I know how to work on cars but it seems much different kinds of mod than when I work on my camaro.

over kill is on here. go down to community vendors. powerlog is the front exhaust manifold. the stock one is very restrictive and powerlog helps get exhuast out faster.

Where can I get a dhp pcm? By putting a pcm in, I don't have to worry about kr, only when/if I drop pulley sizes, correct?

you will still have to worry about it, but the more you have done the less you should potentially knock with a bigger pulley. on a stock pulley any mods, especially a downpipe and intake, will usually drop your knock a lot if not completely.

not sure if you can get a DHP PCM anywhere anymore. you might be best off going with intense or looking for someone local.

I can't find DHP anywhere, which pcm is most favored for these cars, with the least problems zzp, intense, or overkill? And also, is it normal that when I go hard on the car for the rpm's to go up to like 6000, even though I had the stock pcm?
