I have a 98 gtp. It has a 3.4 pulley, 3" catless downpipe, no ubend, 3" exhaust split to 2.5" turbo mufflers, fwi, 180* stat, 8 mm wires, al 104's, crankcase breather, (soon to come: Headers). What is the best pcm to get for this car? I hear good and bad things about the zzp 1.0, i want something economical of course and that works how its supposed to. So i just wanted to get some advice.

Thanks.

Where have you heard good things about ZZP beside from zzp? :P

All i hear about ZZP's pcms are how bad they are.

Overkill PCM's are good, Intense and i believe reptile does them (not sure).

You'd get a more in depth response here.

3800performance.com still sells the best mail order PCM for the 3800.

DHP 1.0 PCM.

Get it...nothing else.

why are you running a breather?

I just thought it looked good. It hasnt caused any problems or anything. Y? Should i remove it? Engines been running a bit cooler since i put it on. Also on these pcm's, did any of u have to do the case learn?

Yes, a case lean needs to be done. Get rid of that breather, all its doing is causing a huge vacuum leak. You only want to run a breather if your pcv is blocked, for example some intercoolers block the pcv.

Ive been reading up on he breather and all i get is that it doesnt cause a vacuum leak, it relieves the motor of positive crankcase pressure, gasses that get past the piston rings. It hasnt triggered any codes and the car actually runs cooler and responds better so ima use it for a little longer and see how it does. Thanks for the info tho.

The pressure just recirculates into the intake anyway doesn't it? With a breather it would escape into the environment.

How does this cause problems? ( i am not to knowledgeable on this particular subject hence my curiosity)

Thats what im saying. It shouldnt. All it does is vent those gasses relieving he pressure in the crankcase.

^wrong...

First off all air is metered. Adding a breather to your car with a functioning pcv, lets air out making you have lack of vacuum pressure a.k.a Big mother vacuum leak. On a side note, your car can possibly go lean with a breather...I try to avoid them like the plaque.

When I did my gen5 swap, I modified my adapter plate for my N* so i didn't have to run a breather.
