PCM help

I am new to PCM stuff and I am looking into purchasing a tuned one and my question is, when installing it, is it as simple as just unplugging the old one and plugging in the new one and away you go?

If not, please enlighten me.

yup, only un hook the battery first. then swap the pcm.

Worst case scenario is you have to do a key relearn procedure which takes 30 min and requires no special tools.

and a crankshaft position relearn ("CASE learn") is recommended when you swap a PCM into a car for the first time, and required if the MIL gets set for P1336 code.

ok thank you. I currently just have an intake installed but I plan to get a downpipe with u bend delete, is there a noticeable difference with the upgraded PCM?

Yes....always a noticeable difference. Yes on the case relearn...rarely the key has to be relearned. And you don't necessarily have to unhook the battery, I never have. Doesn't mean you don't have to though.
