PCM Capabilities?

I will eventually need to get my PCM tuned for my build, but I'm unsure of what it can do or handle.
So if anyone here has any experience tuning these things any info would be greatly appreciated.

Can you delete the MAF and run solely off speed density?

Can you adjust the Speed sensor input from the trans?
GTP vs F-body for instance. so I can use the factory speed sensor wire with my sensor and tone ring in the trans. Mine likely spins much faster than the GTP trans sensor. Probably closer to the F-Body trans.

yes yes and yes

Oh that's great news.
It's seeming more and more that I should just buy my own copy of HPTuners haha.
I'd feel better having a local tuner dial everything in vs going through Intense or ZZP.
However I may be going through Intense to get the ball rolling...

you maybe better off with DHP. iirc hp cant change the tranny to manual. but tiny tuner can and thats used with dhp only. tt is a editor program.

Can I get more info on that? I'm coming up short with the work computers here ha.
I think I read a post saying it's an open source setup?

dhp went out of business but you can buy a new avt box for like 260 and use dhp software for free on any supported car.

heres a screen shot of TT and the tranny, in the lower left bottom you'll see 0=manual and so on, then the blue window you would change to the tranny change.

So If I understand correctly... I can satisfy all my tuning needs using Tiny Tuner?
I was interested in the features Intense and ZZP listed on their websites, but having the ability to adjust my tune on the go is a strong selling point for me.

I guess I'd just need to learn the software and interface and dial things in right?

theres a register the cable thing you need to do with dhp, when you have your pc and dhp settings matched up it goes right through. it can be a pita for some. thing is theres no directions how to do it. but on forums these days.

Wow, looks like I've got quite a bit to learn ha!
Probably be better to get this and start messing with it instead of finding someone else to tune it

thing is if you get a canned tune your stuck with what ever they set up in there, you cant really fix it. the tune costs less then a zzp tune too iirc they are like 400???

this way you can tune for any mods you do later on. like swapping to e85 and larger injectors. delete engine codes if need be.

and theres a lot of guys here who tune, lots of support.

Scotty is going to regret talking people into getting DHP...he'll be full time answering our stupid questions...lol

Yea, From wandering around the forums It seems a lot of you guys know it fairly well.
And yea Intense has a custom tune listed at $180, but no one replied to my email there...
ZZP I emailed and they told me custom tunes start at $300...

But the biggest thing is being able to adjust and tweak it myself. Hell I can keep it OBD compliant for emissions, then flash it back to full race mode haha.

you can make it pass inspection easy enough. dhp can even change the vin number in the pcm. dont see why it would not take the cars real vin.
