Okay, I havent had my desktop PC on in a very long time. But I wanted to move all my pictures from storm chasing and such off there and onto a portable drive I have or I should say at least copy them over so I had a back up.
Well my friggin explorer keep blinking out on me. Not iexplorer.exe that is Internet Explorer, but explorer.exe, the file that controls the file browsing, taskbar and all that stuff. I'll see my task bar for about 30 seconds or so and the desktop and then it all disappears and then comes back. I could work around it for the purposes of backing up everything except when I bring up explorer to browse to the files I want to back up, it disappears too and I have to start over.
I can start task manager and launch a few programs from there and they stay running even when the taskbar disappears, but even if I launch explorer.exe from there it still disappears. I can watch the file processes and its just like explorer shuts down and comes back.
Im not sure what can be done but if anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it. I would just wipe the disk but I got stuff I need to get off there first.
The photos and such are fortunately on a back up drive in the PC but I have stuff on the main drive I need to move and get off there.
