Passenger rear power problem

I have a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP the passenger rear power window won't go up everything is working and no parts are missing I noticed a cable that was in there it has to be connected to a pulley or wheel to bring the window up and down please help me so I can get this fixed

Remove the door panel and see what's up.

Possible that the cable snapped or is bound up inside and no longer working, I'd take it apart and see what the problem is.
 
Is this a 4-door? If the window goes down but not up then I would suspect the window regulator. Is there any noise at all when you try to roll it up? Will it roll up if you grab the glass and help it? If it just moves a tiny bit and binds, then I would replace the regulator. Pretty common on these cars. And while the reg. is out spray the felt guides for the window with a dry lube to keep the glass from sticking and breaking the new regulator. It doesn't take much to fubar these regulators.
 


That cable is part of the regulator. It gets wound up inside the black part that attaches to the window motor. Not a serviceable part.

If the motor is still working fine then all you need is the regulator assembly. If you do buy a new regulator with a motor, be sure to test it once you get it installed BEFORE you put the door panel back on as some of the aftermarket motors are wired backwards so you may need to remove the wires from the harness end and flip them to get the window to move correctly with the switch. There is a small release tab inside the harness end that you can get with a pick. Then they just snap back into the plug once you push them into it.
