Parts for the gxp and ls4 powered cars.

Hey, check out this link to a G8 DOD compatible CAM:

Engine c/f

It's pricey, but it may be worth it to keep DOD. There is a high lift version as well. I don't know about compatibility with our engines, but seeing a DOD cam is encouraging.

I still think the hardest issue to work around for a N/A LS4 is the intake manifold. The stock manifold comes in 3 pieces, and the base could easily be reused. It has the injector bungs and port matching already taken care of. I've done custom fiberglass enclosures and tubing before, but fiberglass resin is only good to 220 degrees and won't survive well when idling in the sun or turning the engine off (the engine compartment shoots up to about 400 degrees). So I'm looking for materials that survive at up to 350-400 degrees for short periods. Aluminum is not an option for me for a lot of reasons. And I've checked and no other LSx intake manifolds will work.

At the end of the day, I want to port and polish the heads, swap the cam, make a cold air intake to match the custom intake manifold, add the downpipe and high flow cat, add a custom exhaust, beef up the tranny and add a larger trans cooler, and of course tune the ECU to make all of this work.

Panther, I went to tirerack and selected winter packages. I got the Sport Edition CD 17x7.5's and Dunlop Graspic 225/55R17s all around. They have more wheel options now than before, cause I just looked. The car is a lot less sporty, but when it was really snowy here in MI I'd call it a performance upgrade because I was killing Cadillacs and BMWs off the line, and several varieties of SUV. I love it when someone pulls up next to me at the light and it is about to go down from 2 lanes to 1. When it gets warm out again the itch to add power will be overwhelming, but for right now I'm plotting and scheming.

I know the feeling i want to do alot of stufff but waiting. I wish installing the cam was a little easier for our cars but i think the performance will be worth it.I love power. Its so addicting. I think ill be getting a dyno tune locally from a guy that does alot of LSx cars. I found me some 17*7 enkie just gott pick out my winter tires. Ill have to call on that cam it should work. I was thinking of buying A fast intake since u can take it apart and try to make it work.

yeah....close doesnt count.....ya know...lol...GOOD NEWS THOUGH the 2010 Camaro is going to have our motors.....so look out...but then that puts us kind of to the side again...so we have to make pontiac shine if thats the case...lol HEY, do you know the diff between the 05-06 LS4...or are there any at all....im going to post to find out....i have a lot of manus. that offer parts for 05-06 GXP impala SS and Monte SS...but they dont know about the new ones....well the GXP's since the SS's r no longer made

The only thing possibly could be differnt i herd at one time was a lightly different exhaust for the 05. That and the 05-early07 GXP had different wheels. The GXP's suspesion was totally different from any of theother cars. Im assuming the SS cars had the upgraded brakes, and THE SS monte carlos had a better suspension and FE4 suspesion and the SS Impallas had the FE3, slightly softer. The GXPcars also have the FE4 but i believe we are the only ones with the bilstiens.

Im really disapointed with the afermarket support for the cars with the LS4 motors. I have already started pestering supercharger companys about what it would take for that. But please guys let me knwo what u want for OUR cars. Im willing to do some foot work. But we have to show these companys that there is a reason to buythere products. SO please list anything u want for our cars. If we work together we can get a larger aftermarket suport.

We need various Intakes, Headers, Strut Braces, more variety of Cylinder Heads.

Well we are lucky we have good factory heads( 243 ) is our casting number. Same head they use on the LS2. You can get stage 2.5 from Texas Speed. Should bolt right up.
For Strut Tower Braces here is a link. Home Page

So far still nothing for headers, and u know the story about intakes.

wonder how hard it would be to bolt on a m112 with a lim like the l67... of course it would be custom but not too hard.

Say what? The new Camaro's use the LS3 from the Corvette...426hp 6.2 liter V8 vs. your 303hp 5.3 DOD V8...not the same.

Probably not...except you'd have a hole in the hood like that dude with the M90'd Subaru LOL

The pulley system is closer to the trucks than the cars system. However the motors in the trucks used a 2 belt system , where ours have a single belt system. There is just all the wrong variables. I found a webpage discussing all the various changes made to create the LS4, The heads are very close to a LS6 head. Not sure exactally how close.
panther send me a link to this site would like to read it....

i know the monte ss doesnt have bilstens

I hope to be hookin' up with this guy, soon. He seems like a really good guy who takes this stuff seriously. He's definitely into it. I believe he's close by to me when he's not in school. We've been sharing some info between us. More to follow. We just went through some intro's.

LS6 heads will work. DoD will be dead. I'm undecided whether I want to change the heads. I will if it is the last thing I have to do to put the car into the 12's after I make all the other changes.

If I really had the time for it I would. I can't even find the time for my car let alone someone elses.

Every single issue you guys are having is the same isue i am having.
I search everyday for the gxp performance parts. I almost regret getting the car.
It's not fair that these gtp's and gt's get everypart they dream of and
the gxp owners are sitting here hoping that one day one person is going to come up with all these parts and start making them.
The car has so much potential that is just going to waste.
But, i will tell you this, when these parts do come out. They will be expensive as hell.
