Park Lock Solenoid - Where does it get power from?

Thanks to all you helpful people! After fighting to get my key out of the ignition, I did a search and found the information I needed to get the darn solenoid out of the steering column. That little screw is a PITA though!

While I had things disassembled, I got curious if the solenoid was really bad. I took a test light, clipped it to a ground, and I checked the two terminals on the connector to the solenoid with car running, in gear, with and without brake applied and the test light did not light up at all. This makes me think the solenoid is still good, but just not getting power. Am I wrong? Where does the thing get power from? Is it from the BTSI solenoid? What does BTSI stand for?

Thanks.

You wouldn't have any pics would you? I think Im having the exact same problem.
Past couple days Ive had to use a pen to press that little button under the steering wheel to get my key out, but the car still wont shift INTO park.

Interesting. I don't have any pictures. I never had a problem with the shifter, just the key. There is a good write-up on here about removing the solenoid in the steering column.
