Pan leaking

Has anyone had extensive issues when their pan leaking? Bolts all tightened to each time with a torque wrench, I've leaked through a cork gasket and even the felpro one. Fluid is dripping from two different spots on the pan.

Not really. Although I don't like the gaskets that don't look like stock. The stock gasket has metal built in and is reusable for life as long as it looks good.

What torque value are you using? Spec is 10ft lbs or 120 inch lbs.

I had this problem on my 2000 GTP too. The oil pan bolts get wet and have drops of oil on them. I upgraded to the aluminum pan that has a simpler engine mount design, and uses just a bead of silicone between the block and pan surface, much better than the over deigned and under performing stock gaskets.

I just installed a new pan (AC Delco) and gasket (neoprene with metal insert). It is leaking slightly in certain areas only. I torqued to 5 ft.lbs and then 10 ft.lbs to be sure. Should I snug up where its leaking. My fear is that it will not help. Any suggestions?

if you have a dot of oil on the bolt heads, along the side of the block, take them out one by one, then clean them off and bush on some pipe thread sealant on the threads, should fix ya up.

or just make em up tight. never went with a tq wrench on them. german spec goodentight. snug then a 1/4 turn more or so. you know till its tight, not bolt breaking tight.

or re tq em lol what ever you like.

this stuff. with PTFE

and i would seal all of them on both sides. the threads go through the block and oil splashes on them then the oil leaks out the treads. the two ends are sealed off, aka timing cover area and rear part by the tranny. so just the sides, its do able.
