Pan drop and filter change.

Ok today im going to drop my pan and change the filter. Hopefully this will fix my whining trans pump. Anything other tips I should b aware of before I start? The trans has maybe 20,000 miles on it but the whine is scaring me lol.

Also where are the cooler lines located? Someone told me that the lines could b on backwards so that's why the pump is starving for fluid. True? Not true?

Dropping the pan and changing the filter is an easy task. Just don't force the new filter in...it should slide easily. The lines for the tranny cooler are located on drivers side. If u jack the car up and lay under it on drivers side there is two lines coming from tranny. Or u could also follow them from the radiator back to the tranny.
 
Everything went smoothly but I barely see any fluid on the dipstick. I put 6 qts in. Any ideas? No leaks either.
 


A filter is not suppsed to slide in easily. Read the info on the sheet of paper that comes in the kit. That filter is supposed to be snug and hold itself up w/o issues. A loose filter means the pump can pull air around the filter neck.
