The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
Not the cheapest in the world, but when I demodded, it still looked brand-new, so I let a buddy of mine take it all for his TA. Stuff holds up, just make sure to run the tubing over the wires to get exact measurements
It's not too bad, and it does hold up well. Had 1 piece touching the header for god knows how long. it was a little melted and discolored, but wasn't burned through and all the wires were in good order.
I say forget paint and just polish it. Everyone and thier momma paints these things without realizing the paint acts like a blanket and keeps the heat from escaping. Ya know, the same people that put in a HAI and leave the bellows on FTL. Joking aside, do what ya like as long as it looks good to you.
Not too sure that the paint holding the heat in is a huge deal when the rotors spinning at 212-12 bajillion rpms creates so much heat, and is forced into the LIM.
Polishing is hard but its also a labor of love. True paint will not make your supercharger that much hotter but a lazer thermometer told me that painted sc's run about 5 degrees hotter than a polished one.
If your just going for 'show' then paint is not an issue but if you plan on doing something for "go" opt for the cooler choice. We all know that heat is the enemy so adding to it makes no sense to me.
Glad you dumped the bellows. I was hoping you didn't think a was baggin on your ride. Looks great and I am sure it moves like hell too.
Main thing is to take your time and prep...prep work makes for a good paint job. Just ported my blower yesterday, so I figured I go ahead and paint the s/c and snout while it was off and apart...
I think it looks alright with the color scheme i have going. Porting sure makes a difference.....
