Painting Headlights and Corners

I want to paint the inside of my headlights and corners black. I know they sell them already like that but I want OEM quality only black. What kind of paint should I use? And what about prep work?
 


if you do the inside you have to cut the things apart, and hope they don't fog up (if the seal isn't perfect it will fog) you can use nightshades I would think. Prep is just clean them real well, and the aftermarket ones can't be lower quality than the oem ones
 
yea you dont nessecarily need to cut them, but you need to bake them , set the oven at like 300 and put them in there checking periodically for roughly5-10 mins, then slowly and carefully pry them apart, tape off your area you dont want painted and scuff lightly with a fine scotchbrite pad, then use a high gloss black(high gloss believe or not will help a little with light output versus a flat black) paint.. and before assembly make sure you cleaned out the old sealer/glue from all the grooves and put together with a 2 part epoxy, and maybe some silicone if needed...
 
not if you use a fine scotch bright.. like a red one.. and use it lightly... dont try to take the chrome off lol....
 


I wouldn't worry about that, it's not going to get that hot (most paints are good past the melting point of plastic)
 
yea i agree i wouldnt worry about the temp of the paint..to be honost just get a can of 99cent black from walmart lol.. that will do..
 


no I have not, well not in person. I dont want it to look to shiny and where would I get such paint?

there are a few places to get it online, but yeah it would still be a bit shiny (after all, the lights are reflector based housings... need to have something to reflect off of)
