• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Painted my taillights

I recently got an e-mail reminding me I hadn't stopped by in a while, so I figured I'd post this here, too!

I had been thinking about doing this for awhile. I finally decided it was time to give it a shot. I've never done this kind of painting before, so I was a little nervous. I have to give props to the site for having a lot of great write-ups to guide me!

As for the design, I was inspired by Sonny Rooney. I wanted to keep the red reflector to stay legal, but wanted something a little different than the usual tinted tails. I used Krylon Fusion Gloss Black and a ton of clear to get them shiny. I wet sanded with 2000 then hit it with Mother's scratch remover. For my first time, I think they came out pretty good! Here are the results:

From further back they look tinted almost.

Looks good..

Im working on something like this right now but completely tinted.I will post pictures tomorrow..

Thanks. Since it was my first time, I got really nervous when I wetsanded the clear coat. I grabbed some cheap turtle wax rubbing compund, but that really didn't do anything. It's a good thing I had the scratch remover around!
