Paint

Okay so as some of you may know my friend backed into my car and screwed up my paint lol. I have a 2002 40th anniversary addition grand prix and I was wondering where I can find paint in a spray can that matches my car so I can paint it myself to make it look new. Also what is the process to make my body except new paint without taking the bumper off?

A good paint supply store should be able to mix it in a rattle can if you give them the paint code. As far as it looking like new, well, I hate to tell you but it'd be best to have a shop paint it. Proper prep makes the difference. If I were to do it I would sand it out past the damage, then fill with primer, sand again, then spray the base, then clear. Then buff it out. I'm not a paint expert by any means just seen it explained.

Do you had a dent on the fender to contend with??? Also, there looks to be a gouge in the plastic of the bumper cover. You'd have to have that filled before painting otherwise it will show up in the new paint.

If your friend backed into it then I would make him pay to fix it. Looks like it was hit pretty good. Maybe try some rubbing compound on it and see how much you can buff out. Then you will have a better idea of what is really left to fix/paint.
