Paint removal from door moldings

I'm going to repaint the door moldings in the center of the doors for a friend of mine, but his are starting to peel from the edges. Would aircraft stripper be best to get all the paint off? I'm afraid if I just sand the edges, they'll start to peel again if I don't get all the old paint off.

Epoxy primer, then? or can I use a regular type of primer before the BC/CC?
 


the paint around my door mouldings (the rail, not bottom one) was chipping too, i had clear coat flaking all over.. i just sanded it down and am repainting the car lol since im sanding to get the flakes off i just took a razor and peeled the paint off then sanded smooth.
