• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

paint color poll

A complete color change will cost serious money. You have to take into consideration EVERYTHING will have to be repainted! Engine bay, trunk, door jams etc. Sticking with the stock color or close to it is your best bet. Buuut if your made of money or dont mind having a sh!tty lookin car then go for it. Not trying to discourage you, just saying its a pita and prob not worth it.

I agree I have painted many a car and changing colors is a PITA in spades on the bright side if you are really really bored and are doing the work yourself, you will quickly wish you were bored again

well i dont know if theres a way to actually make a poll here.... but i want to paint my car... the black is all faded and i need some major body work done including rocker panels.... so i want to take a poll here..

Which color should i paint my car:

1. frost white
2. metallic black
3. Repaint as black
4. Flat black
5. other

5.) Other be different, go paisley

It probably isn't worth the money to do a full color change.
Haha, i was going to do that once and the body shop actually talked me out of it saying it isn't worth it as my car is a '00 model.

be a boss and do something noone did here. like sepang bronze or something.

You should look into doing a matte gunmetal or dark gray. Everyone does matte black, and sure it's cool, but not a lot of people have done a matte gray looking color. On a car with the body of a Grand Prix, a matte color would look pretty cool.

You can always get the car wrapped too instead of a new paint job. In all seriousness though, look into it. Like Odi said, be different, get something cool.

i dont know if you guys realize how insanely difficult it is keeping a matte color clean.

and matte goes better with strong, sharp lines. not a bubble car like a grand prix.

Take the color from the 2008 Lincoln MKZ's. As far as I am concerned they either only made this color for the one year or for a few before that but it was called Dark Blue Ink Metallic (or something like that). My mom used to have one in the same color and the cool thing was that when you had it all nice and cleaned up and in the sunlight it was this nice deep metallic blue and then at night it looked black and the blue would come out depending on the lighting. Was a real cool color...thinking about doing it to one of mine if I can ever find the color and if one of my cars paint ever goes down the toilet.
