FINALLY!! ive had them since march just sitting around. the first time i tried to install them i had clearence issuies but i made it work this time. i must say it was a PITA!!!! the back header bolts were a SOB to get off. but once all the old exhuast was off the new headers went on pretty easily. the o2 extension harnes worked great, and pace sends you wire so you can splice the back sensor in (make it longer to fit) and that worked great. i used the clamps that came with the kit for the y pipe and a whole bunch of rtv. first crank and i had ZERO leaks. and i must say the exhuast note comming out the mufflers sounded GREAT with the headers and no cat. sounded like it actually had some balls. i was very pleased.
welllll, i took it easy all the way home and parked it over night to give the rtv time to dry and seal. the next day i took it out for a test drive. well i punched it and at about the top of first the damn Y pipe came off and i was running open headers
so no those clamps dont work cause i had them on so tight it bent the y pipe in, made for a very tight fit but it still came off, so i just got it tack welded for 10 bucks at a muffler shop.
after about a week of them breaking in it runs GREAT!!!!! i couldent really tell the diff at first. i did notice the speedometer did move up faster but i couldent really feel it. but now that they are broke in the the computer has adjusted for it, it MOVES. well for stock atleast. i can punch it at 20 and break the tires loose. i used to not even be able to do that at 10. the only noticable loss of torque is when your crusing and you give it just a little bit of gas to speed up, it seems like it takes a tad bit more throtle to get it moving. it also holds gears longer now before downshifing with light throttle. but when your at WOT, no loss of torque at all. i will let it shift to second early, about 25 or 30 and lay into it and it moves out so much better, that used to be a dead spot but not now. power is MUCH better now. im very pleased!!!
