P0650

My 01 gtp has only had one code ever since I bought it which is the p0650 meaning the mil light isn't working.

Could this mean that somebody programmed the mil light to stay off or is it just a bad bulb?

Also, will it show other codes if this one is on or does it block any others??

means the bulb is dead. other codes will set if something is wrong, but you wont know it unless you scan the car every now and then.

well its free here, and you cant pay them off. state run inspection here, unless you go pay a shop, and thats just dumb when its free. at least in NJ......

and i dont have to pump my own gas...take that lol

Its state run here in VA, but its a 14$ fee no matter where you go, but since my brother and my father both work at garages. Its funny though berta was the first car ive had in a while pas inspection all on its own. (with the exception of my new cars)

in that case, you can fix it. or jsut scan the car every now and then to make sure its ok.

bulb cost maybe a buck or two. you just solder it in the board.

I thought the bulbs had little clips they just unscrew like the main Back light, at least that's how I "replaced" the SRS light in my last GTP

I'm pretty sure they just unscrew like the back light ones.... I took my oil canister light out because I have a mechanical oil pressure gauge and didn't want to look at the light.

I know this thread is old but after 3 bulbs I finally got the light to work which also turned on another code about low coolant temp reading.

But here's the thing, the mil works but I still hey this same code.

Would unplugging the car overnight make it rethink everything?

have you cleared the code with a scanner? then it comes right back on now?

un hooking the battery for a hr is the same thing as clearing the code with a scanner.
