P0440 code?

Last night the service engine soon light came on and went to advance auto parts and got the codes read and it came up with a P0440, people are saying the gas cap but i dont think thats the problem, this light came on after i installed new hid bulbs, idk if thats the issue because the code has to do with EVAP and emissions please let me know what i cud do too check myself and where its located at thanks

Start off by removing the gas cap, cleaning the sealing surfaces and reinstalling it.

This should not have anything to do with the hids.

Okay and once i do that if it did fix the issue will the light go out? If not where do i look next

It will take at least 3 drive cycles (driving say 10-30 min each cycle) to test and turn the light off
