P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor Problem

Hi, I have a 2008 Pontiac Grand with the 3.8, and about 2 weeks ago, I had trouble starting it. Like it would crank but die right away. Try it again and it would just kinda be clicking. Turn the key off and then try starting it again while giving it gas it would fire up. So I hooked my code reader up to it and the code was a "P0335 Crankshaft Position Sensor 'A' Circuit Malfunction." First thought of course was that the crank position sensor was bad. So I took it to napa had them replace it, when they replaced it, I took off and it did the same thing. I went back and asked them if they reprogrammed it, and they said that they didn't, when they had tried it just kicked them out.
At first I thought they were just feeding me some bull, so I went to a buddy of mine who had a snap-on scan tool and the same thing happened. So what could be the deal? I took a look at it yesterday and no wires seem frayed, and I checked voltage on the pigtail and I had power down there, so what are my other options?
On side note, idk if a battery would have anything to do with it, but I went on a four day vacation, this past weekend, and when I got back I tried to start my car, the battery was dead, quick boost helped that problem and its good ever since.

Any help is appreciated, Thanks in advance!

the pcm might be bad. one of the repairs listed in the code.

theres a fat square plug that plugs into the harness a top the lim by the coils. try opening and closing that plug a few times. mine was dirty and causing crank codes and others.

that harness to the crank and cam is known to go bad. mine was also torn up.

weak battery cant be helping things. id check the battery and the cars charging system. replace whats failing.

I would hope its not the pcm. Ill have to check out that plug in tho. Charging system, is around 13.5-14.5 usually while going down road, battery is fairly new too.

Might be a long shot, but worth a look; I had P0336 a few years ago and it was some mouse-chewed CPS wires on top of the intake......

Winner winner chicken dinner, I don't know how I didn't think to check that in the first place, probably could have saved me $180 it cost to get it replaced since there was like 4 or 5 wires that had been chewed on and one wire completely chewed through. So thank you very much!

that just happened to another guy here. like he posted today about it. the mice are hungry all over the place i see lol

Awesome. I did the same thing; assumed it was the CPS and changed it, then scratched my head when it didn't fix the problem.

a 3 rd guy just posted today, same thing, but it got 2 plug wires and the o2 harness lol
