P0335 - Crankshaft Position Sensor A Circuit Malfunction

Hi everyone!

I just got this code on my car in along with a P0301 Code - Cylinder #1 Misfire. Is it possible that the misfire is causing the crankshaft position sensor code?

I got this info from http://www.obd-codes.com/p0335: "Depending on the vehicle, the PCM uses this crankshaft position information to time the spark properly or on some systems it is only for misfire detection and does not control spark timing."

All in all, I'd like to know if the crankshaft sensor needs to be replaced.

Thanks in advance!

it's more likely that your crankshaft sensor is bad and that is causing the misfire based on the pcm not knowing where the actual cylinder is when firing that plug.

Okay, thanks! I wanted to ask cuz I don't think that'd be something I could do myself. You know about how much labor that would take?
