P/S whine... Maybe???

I'm hearing a whine on my '04 Grand Prix. I rev it up in the driveway with the hood open and no whine. But when I'm driving down the road I hear it as clear as day. When the rpm's go up it gets louder. I don't have any problems with "sticky" steering or hard shifting. If it was the alternator I would think I would hear it in the driveway. What could this be?

If it does not do it while parked and does it while moving I would suspect the transmission.
