P/S upper engine mount

Hopefully this is the right place to talk about this...

I've heard a lot of concerns revolving around the P/S upper engine mount breaking and have seen it break first hand on engines with a bit of torque. The factory unit as we all know is crappy aluminum that tends to snap. To stop this, I asked my dad to fabricate one for me out of metal.

Now, this isn't exactly easy to do and is rather time consuming to get right. So, my dad came up with another idea that he and I believe would work very well. It's not nearly as complex but certainly adds quite a bit of reinforcement to the piece without all the effort.

Now the big problem with this is, I'll be installing the all metal one because I can't be removing the IC every time the original bracket breaks and was kind of curious if you guys think this would help keep the mount from breaking in general. Let me know what you think. Maybe a volunteer to try it out?
 


Are those brackets custom? I thought the other side was the problem one.

This is the bracket I've seen snap first hand. If intercooled when using the Bonneville tensioner assembly, you need to use the crappy aluminum bracket. If it breaks then you need to disassemble the SC and IC to fix it. The metal bracket remedies that. But the two braces are what my question refers to. Could they help stop the breaking of the aluminum bracket?
 
Volunteering, if you are willing to have someone w/o torque test. I think it would.help, as long as the metal isn't able to pull/stretch, while the aluminum doesn't stretch as much.
 
My only concern would be if the bracket torques can the metal arms end up breaking the bracket. Remember the last time mine broke it was on the big flat tab.
 


FWIW when I have time (I know..it's a joke, but I like to dream), I plan on doing something similar to the top bracket. That is steel right?
 
The reinforcement brackets are made out of some sort of 5/16" hardened steel rod; they are a pain in the ass to bend. I think this would be a great solution to the problem. Whoever tests it needs to beat on the car a little bit...can you do that, Bill? LOL
 
We can put them on my car, I like looks of them a little better than my steel bracket in first pic. If I can't break it then you'll be fine.

Actually, that's MY steel bracket in the first pic. LOL I don't care who tries them, but I need to know if they'll work for when I top swap my little bro's car.
