overkill tune

planing to send my PCM in for an overkill tune. Any suggestions on what to ask for.
I will provide him with my complete mod list.

I kept the EGR so not sure if i should have him delete it just in case i remove it due to leaks after i get the car back out after the salt is off the roads.

3.4 pulley
cat back (i know it doesnt make a difference)
stock thermostat
thrasher intake (also not needed)
stock injectors
stock MAF
SD headers

Eh, see how it runs with the stock tune. You'd be suprised how well they will run if nearly no knock is present.

They already run rich enough and run plenty of timing to keep the motor happy. If you needed anything it's likely code related or you want some transmission parameters changed.

I would also run a stock tune. Aren't his tunes way more expensive than a zzp tune or similar? It won't perform any better.

But if you are going to do it, delete egr codes and cat codes, unless you are keeping the cat.

he charged me 100 for the tune, which is about as cheap as any these days. the different transmission settings will make the car totally different and worth the money in my opinion. in your case I don't think there is a need to ask for anything special, but yes to disable the egr and also the evap, then you can just unplug those components and not worry about them.

I bought the car with what i thought was a stock pulley. It actually is a 3.4" So the torque app data i collected was with a 3.4" and not the 3.8" i thought. Mainly i was monitoring knock retard and at WOT the car was between 1 and 3 never saw anything higher.
I was told that even a stock GTP will see those numbers (i told everyone i was running a stock pulley).

Tune is 150 plush shipping. I have read so much on this forum about needing a tune and how much it changes the car. One thing was for the transmission changes that actual make the car drive better be also help it from damage. The second i read is the tune gives better performance due to the modified fuel and air.
I guess the fuel and air only need to be modified if your having knock, so if little to no knock then maybe it isnt needed.

I had stock manifolds before so with the addition on SD headers that should only make knock less.

That's not as bad as I thought.

The transmission settings aren't going to make it last any longer. They raise shift points, which isn't going to do anything. Shifts are firmed up, but that's not going to get it to last longer. I ran a pretty close to stock trans file in my 11 second car.

As far as air and fuel, the stock tune keeps it about right where it needs to be.
