i have been doing a lot of reading on there pcm latly, i have an intense one now which is giving me problems, a constant bank one lean cond code and rough idle,most times it will stall,. a few e-mails and no responce which surprizes me because they always responed right back, anyway, should i go this route with overkill or wait till intense e-mails me, im in no rush for it,i store the car for the winter anyway thank you for your imput ;)
 


thats odd intense is one of the best pcm's you can get. I heard of someone on here that swapped their intense pcm and got an overkill one. My car runs so much better with Will's tune. Overkill woot woot.
 
I contacted Will at Overkill 4 days ago with some very standard questions regarding purchasing a PCM for my GTP, he did reply with his very Generic response but when I began to ask some more detailed questions regarding what gains can I expect with my particular Mods, I have not heard back from him :(
Has anyone else had a good or a bad experience please advise before I spend some money and also can anyone tell me if going this route does or does not mess with your fuel gauge as other posts claim it reverses your gauge also is there any issues with compatibility with the modified PCM, I really want to get this done so any help would be much appreciated, thanks
 
He doesnt respond to what gains you get etc cause its all on his site.
I have got 2 incar tunes from him. He is great.
But sometimes you will wait long cause this isnt his main job. But he is considered the best
 
I completely understand that he comes highly recommended but communication is key, does anyone have a number for him.
My GTP is an 02, with regards to the compatibility issue and fuel gauge question I would like to know if this is going to be a problem or not, I don't think I am asking for over information, pretty basic stuff!
I am happy to pay for a service but need to know what I am getting!
 


I started to look into him but ended up buying my own tuner. It was slightly more but MUCH better in the long run. I primarily decided not to go with him due to his poor communication. I thoroughly read his site over multiple times and so I know he didn't not answers because the info was already listed.

He has the same problem most non-professional/non-full timers have, no time to give proper service. If you have time to waste and enough faith to believe he'll make time to help you more after he already has your money, keep trying to get ahold of him. Good luck with that!

Buy a tuner, research, learn, be MUCH better off...
 
I ran an overkill PCM for a few years and it was great. A custom tune is always the best route though...

I've been waiting on him to get back to me for a couple weeks now, and I understand he has other stuff but it's getting a little much at this point.
 


I have dealt with Will twice now. The first time, and my first tune, was last summer. It took about a month to recieve the PCM. He explained that he accidentally misplaced my order, and discounted my purchase. I went back to him for a re-tune after some additional mods. In my e-mail to him, I inquired about having the tune completed and shipped b4 a car show (about 4 weeks away) I provided him with current scan data from my Interceptor and, to my surprise, he had it done and IN MY HANDS 10 days later !! As far as I'm concerned, Will is "DA MAN!"

Hi Jim I emailed you today and asked what you meant by this. The fuel gauge issue is a 2007 year specific item and my tuning is the only tuning that CORRECTS the reverse fuel gauge on 07s. Either way not applicable to your 02 GTP, you should have no concerns of this regard.

I've been waiting on him to get back to me for a couple weeks now, and I understand he has other stuff but it's getting a little much at this point

Email resent! Maybe cause it had logs in it it's being goofy.
 


I am presently communicating with Will at Overkill and hoping to work something out this week, from all the research I have done regarding Tuned PCM`s he seems to be the most knowledgeable and doesn't over-promise performance and is interested in giving you best overall performance without sacrificing your engine and tranny.
I will keep you all posted on my experience overall...........~
 
I'm tossing the idea around to get one but I'm still under warranty for my car should I wait. And if I got the PCM then a down pipe would that be redundant because I would need a retune? And I'm also nervous about the crank postion sensor relearn because there aren't pontiac dealers anymore. Not even used ones in my area

I'd get things worked out with Intense. John usually gets back to me within 24 hours or sooner. Try calling and leaving a message if you don't get an answer or e-mailing again. Sometimes an e-mail can get overlooked by accident (I do it once in a while at work just because I'm human) Also did your car run normally with the original pcm? Maybe your problem is unrelated to the pcm? Intense really has a ton of experience and I doubt it's something wrong with the program file.

Keep your stock PCM and then get a tunes one that way if you need any sort of warranty work done you just swap it out.
