Overfilled PS. Can I wait?

08 GP base Series III. I overfilled the PS. Engine was cool when I added. After adding level was just above the full hot line, not much. Am I safe, or should I be out there trying to remove some? Can I wait till the weekend or is this an emergency? Its a 12oz bottle, hard to tell but there is some left. So I estimate I put 7-8oz in. It was whining and fluid was barely a drop at the cool add line so I'm hoping maybe the system took some extra fluid in once the car was started.

Thanks. Corrected. If it wasn't checked since new could it have lost a small amount? Or is leaking common in there years? Where should I be looking for a leak?

When I first got my 08, 30k miles on it... if I took turns too hard it would start whining like a *iiiiiiiiitch... and would continue whining until I shut the car off and restarted it.

Finally got around to checking the ps fluid and it was, as you said, dry on the dipstick, going around turns made the pump run dry because it was so low.

Topped it off and the whining never happened again, and I had no leaks either. Maybe it's a problem from the factory that they're underfilled... saw this with a few other 07-08 models?

If it's not leaking you may have a problem I overfilled mine and when I would take off the cap to check it I could feel pressure, never gave it much thought until I blew the high pressure line
