over reving?

while racing a cobalt turbo tonight from a light at WOT, while my car usually shifts at 6100 rpm, it seemed almost to either slip, or hit the rev limiter at close to 6400 rpms before shifting into 2nd gear as i eased off it. any idea what could have caused this? could a belt be slipping?

i got a pcm from Intense, but for some reason when i got it, i dont think they tuned it right and it shifts at around 6100/6200 but i have stock cam/rockers so i know its shifting to high, and until i can get a real tune it'll have to do, considering i never usually go past 50% throttle unless im racing. which is maybe once a week.

- what can cause the transmission to slip?

When I first got my car, the transmission wouldn't shift out of first until I let off the gas... just bounced of the rev limiter. Then I put some stuff called cermax in there and 15K miles later, it hasn't had a problem since. You might want to give that a try...

Are you running stock size tires? Mine would hit the limiter at the top of first because I changed my tire size without changing the pulses per mile in the pcm. Once we corrected the pulses per mile, it shifted right where it was supposed to.
