Over Port M90 Video!



What would you do?

Remove it, throw the case away, sell the rotors, sell the snout, and install the other blower you have. Because you failed on porting this current one.


..and just for the record. Just because you have a ported blowar doesn't mean it's going to increase your boost, if anything your going to lose boost from it for opening up airflow.

How's that? Opening up flow after the blower will lower boost, but opening flow before or through the blower should increase it, right?
 
Anything after the heads...example...better flowing exhaust will lower boost levels...letting the car breathe...but a ported blower isn't going to lower boost levels unless you OVER port the case...as in this situation. As if you put a intake and smaller pulley on your car with no exhaust work. Lots of boost...no power...as compared to no boost and still no power.
 
actually, a good ported blower should reduce outlet temperatures which by the laws of physics would require it to create less boost. less heat = less compression happening = less boost.

although it might not be enough to be noticeable, the boost should be lowered when anything is there to lower outlet temperatures whether it be an intercooler, more free flowing exhaust, or a ported blower.
 
The porting was done locally by FTW Motorsports. The s/c will be scrapped or sold to FTW.

Just to get an idea of how much Boost this s/c might be making a Boost gauge will be used. My other s/c won't be getting ported.

If you want help in doing your other M90 let me know. Done enough to know what works and what does not. There is not much in porting a GenIII before it becomes a total waste of money when you can compare it to a bolt on and go GenV M90 for much more gains at a cheaper cost.

But if you want something better than a stock GenIII that will help its performance, and not empty your wallet let me know, I can do it as professional as you want with a Bridgeport...and not hack the crap out of it with a die grinder with a cut off wheel and a Dremmel.

Well, as you know bio there is no reason professional results cannot be achieved with other tools, such as a router. You have seen me prove this.

how does colded more dense air create less boost i dont understand that. A ported blower may create less boost but id say it creates less boost because theres more space under the blower but same rotor size causing the same air flow. But at the same time having more air able to be used it should give more torque just like longer intake runners does on other cars, right?
 


dude, go to a physics class, seriously.

when air is compressed it heats up. if the blower is more efficient and can move more air with less effort, it will not heat the air up as much. therefore a ported blower should net cooler outlet temperatures, which will in turn net less boost. colder air is denser.

its not that the air coming into the blower is colder, its that the blower can now compress the same amount of air and not heat it up as much.
 
I understand that it will make the air colder coming out of the supercharger but the colder air will heat up in the combustion chamber and expand I have taken a few physics classes and I have my associates degree in applied science to prove it I’m just saying that the increased space should also reduce boost just like how a bigger combustion chamber reduces your compression ratio
 
Boost is measured in the manifold, not in the combustion chamber. Think of opening up the blower and getting a little less boost to opening up the exhaust and lessening the back pressure. Same amount flows through, just much easier.
