Output shaft questions?

Hey, havent ever posted on here, but im trying to pull the driver side axle on a 99 GP 3.8L and when i did finally get the circlip to break loose it also pulled what I assume is the output shaft. I need to know if I can just pull that on out and throw it in a vice to remove it, or will pulling it out cause me problems? thank you

I'll let the experts chime in, but i do know this... DO NOT pull out the output shaft. If it comes loose instead of the CV joint, stab it back in and try again. You will eventully get JUST the CV joint.

Dont pull it all the way out. If you pull it until you feel a resistance, STOP that is the c clip hitting the oil lube dam and if you keep pullin you will break that and its just plastic. If you can try to hold the output shaft and try breaking the cv axle loose that way thats your best shot. I have ran into this before and it sucks.
